Texarkana College to host cut-a-thon for missing children

In observance of National Missing Children’s Day, the Texarkana College Cosmetology will join with other cosmetology schools nationwide to raise money for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Men’s haircut will cost $7. Ladies’ haircut & style will cost $12 and All Proceeds will be donated to NCMEC.

The cut-a-thon will be held on from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Texarkana College Cosmetology, 1401 Richmond Rd, Texarkan, Texas.

The sound of bells fill the air as the annual Texarkana Salvation Army Kettle Drive gets underway.

"We are going to have about 30 locations all around the Texarkana community in Ashdown and in New Boston," says Salvation Army Lt. Jimmy Parrish.

Folks who frequently use Texarkana's public transportation system now have a new place to transfer from bus to bus.

For the past 10 years the transfer station of T Line was a parking lot in downtown Texarkana. After a $1.5 M investment, the bus service has a new location at the corner of 14th and Texas Blvd.

Coldwater Creek to host donation drive

Coldwater Creek will be hosting a donation drive on Saturday, July 9 for CASA for Children. Items needed are new blankets and teddy bears, child friendly non-perishable snacks, for example, juice boxes or animal crackers. Financial donations are tax deductible and will also be accepted.
