Texarkana, TX going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month | Community Spirit

Texarkana, TX plans to add some color to the city as it joins the nation in its support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Mayor Bob Bruggeman wants folks in Texarkana to take part in "Pink Out Texarkana" on Friday, October 12.

“Everyone has been affected in some way by breast cancer,” commented Mayor Bob Bruggeman.  “It is our hope that our community will be a sea of pink this Friday to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and to focus on our upcoming Race for the Cure to raise funds to find a cure.”

The Texarkana Race for the Cure will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Four States Fairgrounds.  Participants may register online at http://komentexarkana.org or in person at Central Mall (near Chick-Fil-A in the former Arcade) until October 16th.  For more information, visit the website or call (903) 791-9585.
